A Marcus Padley article? I seem to recall an article from Padley some years ago where he proclaimed "value" and hence buy and hold strategies to be dead, and informing us we should all switch to a trading strategy. The best timing iv'e ever seen i might add. He told his loyal followers to do this at a time right before a time when using momentum indicators, the market suffered it's second largest loss in the last 80 years (the largest being 1929). So he managed to pick the wrong strategy at the exact wrong time for a twice in a century event.


I agree with what you've said and he's said about TA and FA though. TA can work because alot of mak particiapants believe in it and use it. It becomes self fulfilling. Like back in the 80's when one of the big boys on Wall Street would make a huge bet in the bond market. When the market moved against them, they often doubled or tripled down and moved it the other way. Alot harder to do today ofcourse.
