It must be hard to keep the funds coming for exploration. Finland is an excellent jurisdiction, very safe and a very skilled workforce. It makes me wonder why Nordic and listed companies like them are not taking the opportunity to grab assets that will provide them with cash flow and not have to keep going to their investors for more and more cash.
The Laiva Gold mine is just down the road from their exploration sites, and they would be able to pick it up for a song as it is a private company.
With the Euro under pressure from a struggling European economy, now would be the opportune time to pick up projects like Laiva Gold. The last time it was in production, I believe the all-in cost was around €2k an ounce of gold and could have been further reduced if they had the funds behind them. At the time, it could not make a go of it because of falling gold price, strong euro, and significant debt, but now it is a no-brainer.
Nordic looks well managed and could really fly if they added a producing mine to their list of projects; unfortunately, pure exploration companies are not attracting the attention they deserve, but producers are. The video below shows the scale of the mine; Nordic should at least have a closer look at it before another company snaps it up. The synergies between them are clear and would turbocharge Mordic's price.
