time to applaud our judicial system

Today we have seen how effective our judicial system is and how it ensures that we adhere to a legal framework as set out in the constitution.

What is significant is that ALL of the High Court bench voted down the unfair treatment of asylum seekers. The unsupportable fiction that people should be treated diffrently depending upon how they arrive in our vicinity is now shown to be null and void.

It's also clear that the right wing troglodytes who post here on HC are so far out of step with traditional legal values that they may just as well be in outer space.

I can hear them now. "The views of the poeple MUST be represented" they scream.... Well guys, the views of the people HAVE been represented. It's there in the constitution. If you don't like it, you have a perfectly legitimate way to change it; by referendum and constitutional reform...

    Good luck with that... LOL
