Kenny
I try and understand where you guys are coming from and at best appreciate there is a problem.
To me its apolitical.
As its rememberance day,a little story(no message).
My father came to this country from Calabria as a 12 year old boy and fought in the 2nd world war from the age of 18(for Australia),3 of those years were in the Solomon Islands.
Post war he attended Melbourne university, graduating as a civil engineer(hydraulics).
My mother once said " we could of been very wealthy if your father had worked in private enterprise,he was certainly bright enough"(worked for Vic and Tas governments).
I asked him why, not long before he died(not too long ago).
He said " I chose to be a servant of the people ".
An obitary notice said " an immigrant who fell in love with his adopted country".
Ken,I look at our legal and illegal immigrants and wonder just how many 'joes' are there, just given a chance.
I asked him why not long ago(just before he died).
He said " I chose to be a servant of the people
