Oh my god - are you seriously going to put a silicone sheet over an exposed flame section of a BBQ???
Can I tell you how it's going to work out? DISASTER!!!!!
PLEASE only put the silicone sheets on the hot plate as they work on radiant heat and not direct heat. Silicone works in an oven as the heat is distributed and not direct.
I have used them but honestly prefer the BBQ taste of a "char grill" and those black stripes are a true sign of a successful cook-up. The meat tastes too much like broiled or boiled surprise rather than a BBQ.
