Hi firsova. While I support the idea of a 20 billion research fund, this may not necessarily increase the annual spend on research. Currently research investment through the NHMRC, CSIRO and other research institutions are included in the annual budget. This annual allowance may simply come from the "20 billion research fund" in future rather than be accounted for in the budget. I haven't looked at the details. If there is any increase in research spend then it's going to take a very long time to benefit the company, 10 years perhaps.
Furthermore the government has already massively slashed funding to CSIRO (research) and now in the budget they are massively slashing investment in public health. I'm assuming PGC relies on customers in both the public and private sector so if either one of those suffers I don't think it's good for the company.
I'm very concerned about the impact of this budget actually.
