I'm positive on AIZ at the moment, and bought in recently. I too foresee good things in the medium term.

It's worth noting that while trans-Tasman and domestic is a large part of their business, international visitors also likely made up a large volume of the trans-Tasman passengers - i.e. visit New Zealand and Australia at the same time, flying in between. How many times have you flown trans-Tasman and been surrounded by people in tour groups who clearly don't live in either country.

Does anyone know numbers on these?

It'll be interesting to see how volumes recover once things are open. I'm hopeful for an increase in tourists from Aus and New Zealand to each other's countries, above the normal levels, given the lack of other destinations (outside the Pacific) they have access to for a while.

It's also worth keeping an eye on the next few weeks as countries open up all over the place and we potentially see a surge in reinfections and new lock-downs. I'm not predicting anything here, just trying to keep a realistic lens on the possible outcomes for the rest of the year. There are definitely still hurdles in front of us.

I think we should be optimistic, but practical about the realities while the world is still reeling from COVID-19.
