Basically what we have now is some very highly paid people in the directors level who get to choose who will be the next highly paid executive. Guess what happens to the mkt salary of those people on the next compensation round !? This is not just TLS !
Our BIGGEST PROBLEM - many of the fund managers who hold a lot of the company (not just TLS) for the Aussie Public don't care ! After all - their exposure is just a ratio in their total portfolio ! Sell a few shs here, buy a bit there - everything groovy ! As long as they beat the index they are happy - after all how are bonuses decided ? However, this will start to change ... IMHO
The recent major holder action (AFI) in regards to RIO is the best piece of investor news we have seen for a long time !! Finally some funds trying to protect their rights (read their holders rights) rather than just simply adjusting portfolio exposures.
