There are 2 ways things can play out with a t/o.
Sometimes holders need to convert options to shares and sometimes the predator will offer to pay optionholders the t/o price minus the exercise price.
Either way, there is always plenty of time to convert, sell or accept an offer. It often takes many months for takeovers to play out.
