Shorts are mounting.
Does anybody that monitors the short positions daily have any graphs or comments to add here?
Is there any news flow expected that will cause a crash in the share price?
The shortsellers look highly resilient. Who is lending out their stock to the shorters? Does anyone have intel on this?
I agree with the shorters. Fundamentally, mesoblast doesn't really have anything useful on the market yet. Is it naive to suggest that a lifetime's worth of damage to the cardiovascular or endocrine system could ever be treated with such an acute injection? Is anybody thinking outside the square on this one?
I can see the potential of replacing certain circulating cell types so I would argue that Mesoblast might have something in the bone marrow transplantation, but I don't know if Mesoblast is the leader in this field and I don't think it could ever justify the company's extreme valuation.
Time will tell.
