Not sure about governments. But, I believe companies will be tempted to MANIPULATE either UP or Down their share prices. Depends on the EXPEDIENCY....errr...insider job?
Secretly releasing shares from their stock after an upgrade? Dilution? Anything is possible. It is a question of ETHICS, TRUST, and "HUNGRY-NESS".
I think ASICS and ACCC have great interest in such eventuality notwithstanding complaints.
