I would love to see a referendum on the issue. No stupid tricky questions or prevarication like the last time Turnbull tried it on.
The Australian public took one look at the question and voted to keep things as they were
Suggest the following 1) Should Australia keep the current political system with the Queen as head of Government YES/NO
ie no emotive nonsense, no political slimebaggery, no loading up with other issues.
I think that the outcome would be a 65-75% majority YES.
I also suggest we have referendums on the following
1) Should states be allowed to secede from Federal Parliament (WA will do it immediately)
2) Should compulsory voting continue
3) Should we allow annual immigration of more than 1% of Australias population from countries which are currently ethnic minorities in Australia?
I think that the first one will be interesting - cant see the parasites in VIC and NSW allowed WA to leave. 2 will fail as the average person hates it. 3 is a slam dunk.
Off to sunnier pursuits now than arguing on a chat board!
