In the simplest of layman's terms can someone explain how so many people smarter than me appear to have got it wrong with BYR.

For my own part (I'm a complete novice), someone (connected ... LOL) put me on to them. They immediately started going up on (I think Balatandi) speculation. (talking beginning of the year here).

Then I was told (DYOR!) that the early Balatandi results were so good that they were drilling down even deeper.

Now I (being genuinely stupid and naive) took this to mean that they already had good results to that point and the extra drilling was just a question of how good and for how deep. The icing on the cake.

At every hint of the results coming in the share price spiked.

Then the long wait, the slow SP decline and the disastrous results which are now history.

So, does that mean the results of the first (shallow) drilling were never actually released! And now we know they were never actually any good.

And I was waiting for the icing on the cake when there was no cake.

Is that about right?
