Razor, in my opinion the government must spend whatever it takes to get us out of the internet dark ages. I live in my state's 3rd largest city. just 90km from its largest city, and we don't even get ADSL2. When discussing costs, people should take into account the other side of the ledger: the costs of Australia remaining in the current internet black hole that the Howard government mired us in. We need real broadband for the country to prosper into the future, whatever the upfront costs may be.
