Whippet, cheers :).
Um, yea, I considered it... especially last FY...
However, there is a good chance that I'll apply for graduate jobs in London upon graduating...
The two plans are:
Work in Sydney, from 2.5 years, for, say, 4 years... move to London, unless work is going really well.
Work in London from 2.5 years.
It largely depends what offers I get. I mean, if I get, say, PwC Corporate Finance here... or UBS M&A in London... seeya :).
So, I don't really want to commit such a 'large' amount of cash, and then have it roll over into my super.
I mean, it would be a fairly reasonable plan to rent in Sydney for, say, 4 years, not even buying a house till we get to London (Greenwich would be nice :) ).
I think back in the day, if you were permanently leaving Australia, you could withdraw your super? However, I'm pretty sure you now can't. This means I no longer bother to contribute to my super to get the co-contribution. That would have been a nifty way to force myself to save $4000 and get another $5,250 or so, but alas.
