The three major U.S. stock indexes rallied more than 2 percent
last night, powered by the best day in two decades for some
major banks as unexpectedly strong results from Wells Fargo
relieved worry about the credit crisis spiralling out of control.
Investors poured into bank stocks, driving Wells Fargo up 32.8 percent THATS A MASSIVE INCREASE .........., while shares of rivals like Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase
and Bank of America jumped 13 percent or more. Wells Fargo
also raised its dividend at a time when competitors are cutting them. THAT SHOW THEY ARE EXTREMELY CONFIDENT !!!!!
Boosting the Nasdaq were shares of Altera, which jumped 12.1
percent on news the chip maker's second-quarter revenue rose
more than analysts expected.
