You are correct. It should have been 8.6%. As of now (17:20) wind and solar was producing just 5.5% of total load required.
On at least two days last week, windmills in both Vic and SA were producing nothing for several hours each day. What is the point in having to backup these inefficient means of developing power when fossil fuels can do the job on their own.
