A couple of hundred years ago foreigners came to my ancestors lands, massacred my people, threw us of our land, banned us from using our native language, banned us from wearing our traditional clothes and ultimately devastated our way of life. Am I an aboriginal Australian....no, I am Scottish, and these deeds were carried out on us by the English. As much as it pains me to think of that part of our history, it WAS the way of the world back then. As a Race, the Scots like many others have moved on, and live as one with our neighbours (except when we play them at rugby or soccer LOL. My point is that Aboriginal Australians are not the only people on this earth who have suffered at the hands of an invading force. The current lives of aboriginal men and women is tragic, I do not have the answers to this state of affairs, but I do know aboriginals who have stood up, educated themselves , have good jobs, and good lives,I am not saying it is easy, but it can be done.
