** Following on from entropylords post this morning.

Substantial Shareholder Notice from Xstrata:

18/01/07: 66.24 mil shares (50.62%)
21/01/08: 62.25 mil shares (47.57%)

I’ve been away a few days --- so thanks to James and Little creature
That would appear to be the case of 90% to become unconditional

--- Although todays announcement says:
XNA intends to review it conditions to the offer by 31st Jan.

I rang the JBM and XNA help desks last week.
Neither knew a great deal --- XNA being the most helpful.

I asked about payment if we accepted.
XNA said the money would arrive about 2 weeks after the 31st Jan (now 15th Feb I suppose)

I am not sure if this is correct --- but if it were the case --- there is no incentive to make an early acceptance.

So I dont know ---
Nearly 3% of acceptances withdrawn --- Why?
Maybe to sell on Market -- dont know that either

In todays market $23 looks a lot better than it did when the offer first happened
But I would prefer BHP scrip --- tax wise.
