Yep, your right. Gilead showed great interest in various Gritstone programs and did stump up some cash to secure it from its competitors very early on. BIT225 isn't early on. Its been in clinical trails since march 2007. Lots of trials. Lots of interesting data. Not a single such offer in the 16 years since. Not really a realistic comparison unfortunately.

At no point have I said it can't or won't happen for Biotron, in fact I have frequently said I hope it does. Irrespective of what we all want its simply a little pie in the sky to be talking about secret behind the scenes negotiations involving multiple bidders willing to pay a 3000% premium when in fact there is absolutely no evidence that there is a single one, despite many, many years of speculation to the contrary fueled by comments from the MM the entertainer stating things like:

"In coming weeks, Biotron will brief potential pharmaceutical partners on the trial outcomes. We believe that the successful results from this study will facilitate commercialisation negotiations with these parties."

That comment was half a decade ago. Lets just hope for exceptional trial data then we shall know for sure if BP is interested.
