The banks and corporate's are raking in billions in profits year on year while the average citizen is facing spiraling increases in the basic cost of living and they now want to introduce a charge for the use of the base currency of the country?
We just went through 7 day's without power and phone coverage dropped out after 3 days as the telstra towers battery's went flat.
Flooded in and running on genny's we were nearly out of fuel after using well over 150 lts keeping two freezers a cool room and two fridges running and down to less than 20 lts left when the small local roadhouse advised they would be able to supply fuel for locals over a few hours.... Cash Only (or credit).
Rural and remote areas can not rely upon digital/phone/internet banking at the best of times let alone natural disasters and it's not like the top end of business' can not afford the extremely small cost the use of Cash incurs on their bottom line given the huge profits they make.
Bank's are a protected species unlike any other, anyone remember TARP back in 08? Remember we also used to have checkout people at Coles and Woollies back then as well?
Pretty soon you'll own nothing and be happy Right?
