Hello CAT lovers,
Great thread here and some correct observations I have just given a thumbs up where I agreed.
DEX - I especially agree with your point on individual project funding and note that Brad Glynne is not only open minded about this but CXY appear to be strategically encouraging it as well.
The CDIC structure is ideal for this type of commercial arrangement and it is highly promising that we are now seeing comment from the company on CDIC in the latest presentation.
Demand, IP, technical ability, track record, finance skills and professional associations in the CDIC deal offer comparatively rapid development opportunities - things happen fast in China. From the upbeat comments in the last report, from a traditionally conservative CXY, indicate to me that the burn may have triggered intense interest in UCG discussions for China.
I WILL SAY IT AGAIN THINGS HAPPEN FAST IN CHINA this could develop into just what the CAT needs in terms of the attraction of a cornerstone investor.
The Victorian JV will yield another massive boost to their commercialization plans and a significant partnership for carbon capture storage (CCS) technology development.
HM - not many picked up your point on the Obama visit and discussion the other day. Discussion on UCG and CCS is on the international political agenda for the June Presidential visit! UCG is high on the political agenda and CXY is at 11.5c - bloody fantastic! What gets me HM is how you got onto that subject two days before the press release - you are a bit weird but in a good way I really like that.
I believe this whole CCS aspect will be highly significant for the CAT in future. In the meantime UCG is positioned as a key technology and is only just emerging. The nice graphs of the development curve in the last presentation illustrate this point.
With all eyes on gas at present it will not take too much to trigger some significant investors to get aboard but this does not happen overnight. On market purchase would be nice and it is necessary to get that SP up. Carbon capture, resource utilization, low cost (cleaner) power generation and rapid development potential are the major points of difference that set UCG apart.
Dr Len, Brad and the whole team are doing their best but Rome was not built in a day. I could not imagine that this team, with ROI high on their agenda, would not be looking at financial strategy and timing on shareholders behalf.
Cheers,
CW
