Sorry for your loss. Please pass my condolences to your family. I have been through this experience in 2014 and unfortunately my father died young (62yr old) due to liver cancer.
It wasn't a very pleasant time but I am glad I spent last few weeks with him and he got to spend time with his grand kids.
Still think about him from time to time (good and bad times, old memories) and wish he was around to see his grand kids getting older but this life.
