FOLSCHVILLER ST1 well spudded on 07/08/2006. Targets were the Westphalian D and C sequences from 700m depth.

Coring operations in the Westphalian coal measures began at the Folschviller St1 well on 07/09/2006. Coring was commenced from 743 metres subsurface.

The gassy coal seams were intersected from 767m.

Therefore it took 1 month to drill down and into the target depths.

The Diebling St1 well spudded on 02/11/2006. Target is Westphalien D sequence from 900 metres depth.

One could hypothesise that it would be 5 weeks from the spud date of Diebling before coring operations into the Westphalien coal will begin... that would take us to approx Thursday 7th - Monday 11th December (another two weeks) at the earliest that we could expect to get any news on coal seam interesections?

Looks like the players have got similar dates in mind and just want to get set EARLY.
