Interesting, I haven't though much about the benefit to insurers. Mild cases can be treated with lifestyle modifications and there are drugs to manage symptoms like high blood pressure or heart failure. If caught early perhaps they can avoid the disease progressing to severe in which case the only treatment is surgery/valve implant which is very expensive.
