So tonight I've been digging into who Sanmu are. Recall that Sanmu are one of the companies listed in this announcement:

as Timeone's business partners or potential directors. They are the guys who own the existing beneficiation plant at Rizhao port and are looking to expand it. Searching the web, I found these 3 links:

which may explain how PLV came to get hooked up with "Timeone" (read Timone as Sanmu and others). It is also encouraging to see that these guys are after 5-6 million metric tones of Fe p.a. and were actively seeking out new suppliers.

If you are interested in checking out the size of the port where the beneficiation plant is located (Rizhao port), type the following coordinates into google earth:

35 22' N, 119 33'E

This port is massive and as we have been led to believe is developing and has a lot of free space for the expanded plant.

It shows the size of one of their divisions (they make wooden furniture). In 2006, they had 18,900 employees, Total Fixed Assets of 4.52 billion Yuan and a revenue of 2.49 billion yuan. This is NOT including Sanmu's metallurgy division.

Again, reading between the lines, I'm pretty confident that Sanmu are shareholders in Timeone. Like Rizhao Port Group, they appear to be big players.
