Blocks L8 is located in water depths from relatively shallow to deep water off the Kenyan coast south of Pancontinental's Block L6. The 5,114.9 sq. km area has a number of drilling targets; the largest is the Mbawa prospect, with multi-Billion barrel oil and multi-Tcf gas potential.
Origin farmed-in in 2005 and funded a 2D seismic program to earn 50%. Funding a 3D seismic survey will earn Origin a further 25%
