Timing FY22 Results

Last year the company issued unaudited FY21 numbers in mid-July, and released the formal audited results mid-August.

I think there has been a certain disappointment that so far this year there has been no similar release of unaudited results for FY22, especially when there is some speculation that good results might set off a short covering rally.

Some might assume that the absence of a release similar to last year’s means that results are disappointing. I think this is an assumption without much merit.

Isn’t it at least equally likely that the results are exemplary and the company wants to release the results at once for maximum impact? I have no specific insight except to say that if it were me I’d not want to step on my own messaging, but I would perhaps try to get the audited results out just a bit more promptly than last year.

Either way, it won’t be more than another three weeks or so. It’s not too long to wait for good news.
