In fact they have made a similar release in mid July of unaudited results for the last 2 years. People like routine and predictability....when things change it creates a certain amount of anxiety or doubt. Given they haven't released anything yet we'll be waiting for FY results.
However, unaudited results would only give sales figures which in the greater scheme of things doesn't mean much in the absence of costs to produce those sales. Maybe they want to release audited results as they are expecting/confident that a profit can be announced. That's a much better announcement than unaudited sales IMO.
As you said, 3 weeks or so and we'll know anyway. Shorts can sweat it out a bit longer - they're not getting any of mine.
