I have had conversations with other investors about timing your entry in a share that is 12 months away from break even , such as BID. The conversation usually goes like this " Yes, looks like a great little company but I'm going to time my entry to buy stock just before it goes break even and is about to start spitting cash " says the other investor. I say , good luck, as you are a lot smarter than me if you can build a significant holding just before a company is about to spit cash for all the market to see. The reality it is very tricky to time your entry. My style is to buy 50% as a core position and to add my holding as milestones are achieved. In BID's case that may mean paying 3 cents , then 3.5 cents etc. Thus I still have a significant no. of BID shares to buy but have the comfort of having built a significant core position at 2.1 cents that is up 24% so far.
