Bill there simply are not lot of tin projects ready to step in and fill a shortfall in supply.

The problem is that it seems unlikely that enough new mines will be opened in time to plug the gap. In addition, production in China and Indonesia – the world’s two biggest tin mining producer countries – is falling. In June and July, China imported record amounts of tin from mines abroad.

A stark picture was painted in Sydney on Friday by Peter Kettle, the public face of London-based ITRI – formerly the International Tin Research Institute, founded in 1932. As he pointed out, there is only one new tin mine project around the world in feasibility stage. There are four more at scoping stage, just 10 with complaint resources. Globally, there are only 130 known tin projects – less than half the number of rare earth ones. The U.S. Geological Survey estimates world tin reserves still in the ground at just 4.8 million tonnes.

Arranging a off take partner would have helped sentiment and the share price but now i expect this will wait till the end of June. Though it is good to see Stellar doing some PR in the Hong Kong with another good presentation.

Can only agree with Butchy's comments about tin use.

    The Future

The use of tin is expected to grow as new applications are developed. Because tin has no known detrimental effects, it is expected to replace other more environmentally harmful metals such as lead, mercury, and cadmium. One new application is the formulation of tin-silver solders to replace tinlead solders in the electronics industry. Another application is the use of tin shot to replace lead shot in shotgun shells.
Development work is underway to create a tin-based compound for use in refuse disposal landfill sites. This compound will interact with heavy metals, such as lead and cadmium, to prevent rain water from carrying them into the surrounding soil and water table.
