The brand will survive, but they have lost the trust of the public. I didn't see any acknowledgement that they would desist in activism and focus on core operations. On debates such as the Voice 60% voted against and while not all will stop flying Qantas due to the activism, there will be a number that will stop and as long as Virgin, Alliance, Rex, and others don't upset people they will benefit. Right now Qantas have upset a lot of people so they need to stop leading with their chins. The rejection of the renumeration report is a damning action by shareholders as the only step they can take without selling shares to vent frustration.

If the board is staying they need to roll their sleeves up and set up a strategy and that means someone like Todd Sampson needs to earn the big bucks he is being paid for being a PR expert. Hudson needs to differentiate from Joyce, but the best course of action would be to focus on operations, customer service, and reliability.
