mmenell, can I suggest you do homework on tin mining and its history. Its something few Australians ever think about doing. Its amazing given that Australia is one of the worlds largest minerals exporters.
In nutshell tin is becoming worked out. Alluvial deposits are mostly used up, and discovery of new resources in ground that has been picked over many times already is getting harder and harder. Some people do know where there are deposits of tin that may still have a way to run, but a much higher sustained price would be necessary to risk the investment. All these dumb ass commodities gyrations drives by US and European speculators and the Chinese regime do is discoureage investors and guarantee short supply in the future.
