It's not just Trump, it's a trend that's been developing in all "western democracies" since 9/11. Trump just puts it most crudely.
He is the head of the state. The state is preparing to dispense with the trappings of democracy. Trump is refusing to state that he will accept the results of the election, unless it goes his way.
The spineless democrats are saying the military will turf him out but won't say what will happen if the military refuses to march him out.
