    Hi Guys,

having invested in mining for a long time, and having an accounting degree, in principle i like to see items expensed vs. capitalised as much as possible.

Firstly the tax implications are favourable, and secondly, over the years I have seen so many operating costs hidden via capitalising them despite them being ongoing, recurring costs.

yeah, expensing this shaft may reduce the P&L in the first year, but astute investors can pick this up and make adjustments if they want. It also better aligns the P&L with the cashflow - after all, the cash has gone - and it gives me confidence that Management aren’t hiding opex by financial trickery.

Regardless, it isn’t make or break .... you guys following Cu and Sn prices? There’s going to be some chasing !!

    cheers
    john
