Rather than consume the XJO thread with a discussion on Gold - perhaps you would care to share your thoughts in the appropriate thread?

Suffice to say as an opener:

1. In Zimbabwe people are panning for gold and trading it for essentials like bread. Incidentally the Zimbabwe CB is talking about bringing the gold standard in that country so that they can retain their ZWD and whilst I wouldn't want to argue the points of an extremist regime - it is an interesting turn of events.

2. The Euphoria in the markets (read Gold)? I thought there was euphoria in other sectors as well (read banks and financial institutions, oil, copper, alt energy etc). Heck JPM re-rated GE last night with some very strange and vague comments!..........meanwhile when Gold was going UP last week they revised their forecast DOWN.
