Recent market action in Optiscan price reminded Tiresias one of his very early reads which he encountered many decades ago; Benjamin Graham’s “The Intelligent Investor”. Ben Graham was the Warren Buffett’s mentor and Buffett named his first son after Graham. Though a classic, therefore considered old, “The Intelligent Investor”, and Benjamin Graham’s investment philosophy, has never been more applicable, and specifically applicable to us, holders of Optiscan. Tiresias doesn't condemn his friends who trade. It is said the trading is important to maintain liquidity and for price discovery. Tiresias is not that interested in daily price “discovery”. Tiresias is aware of the daily price action, but he considers this a “little thing”. Background noise. Like the proverbial Hedgehog, in his friend Aesop’s fable; “The Hedgehog and the Fox”, he is not interested in the “little thing”, the noise. You see, The Fox, knows many many things. But the fox is always beaten by the hedgehog because The Hedgehog knows one big thing. He knows one really big thing. Tiresias knows that the only sure way to make real money in the stock market is to buy and hold. Understand what you are buying and then hold and buy some more when the Fox is skittish, and the fox is often very skittish.

But Tiresias also knows one really big thing about Optiscan too. Tiresias knows, and it is best expressed in one sentence in the metanalysis paper by Sethi et al, part of which is posted on HC by gmutton, which Tiresias highly recommends his friends read. And that one BIG THING is best summarised in one quote from that metanalysis;
