“What light through yonder window breaks."
William Shakespeare
My Friends,
Tiresias has written and prophesied. These predictions are coming to pass. Tiresias has written on Optiscan’s application in neurosurgery, oral cancer, cervical cancer, and breast cancer. He sees these as first steps. Other cancers and other applications, some mentioned, many not, and many not yet imagined will follow. Tiresias has also talked about the price action but has been careful to steer away from this. With daily price action, even the prophets of the gods immortal struggle in vain.
This week we have seen two important developments in Optiscan’s long-term goal of becoming the universal real-time in vivo microimaging system. We have seen the appointment of new director. This director represents something that, in its previous incarnations, Optiscan has sorely missed. A director with a lifelong commercial background, a director with real world commercial experience, a director with connections in business in Australia and in Asia. Does Tiresias have to say any more for the shareholders and the market to grasp the meaning and importance of this. He thinks not.
This week Optiscan also announced a breast cancer trial in three hospitals in Melbourne. This is another important step and further affirmation and validation. The importance and the potential size of this, Tiresias does not have to reiterate. There is a real problem with current practice of breast cancer surgery. It is the problem of the difficult with frozen section biopsy surgery during breast cancer. The frozen section system is broken down and many cancer surgeons have given up on frozen section. The frozen section is slow and inconclusive. It does not solve the problem of where is the edge of the cancer. As a direct consequence of this, up to 30% of women must undergo second surgery. This is suboptimal! It is bad for the patient medically, it is traumatic emotionally, and expensive to the medical system. Something had to be done.
The implications are obvious. The trajectory is self-evident. Enjoy the ride my friends.
