My friends,

Tiresias speaks a few continental European languages but unfortunately the only Teutonic language he speaks is English. He has been aware of an advertisement placed by Zeiss for a Head of “CONVIVO Community Platform”, users of Optiscan’s confocal laser endomicroscope. Tiresias has had to rely on a translation of the original German and is pleased to discuss the significance of this Zeiss advertisement with his friends today. Here is the opening paragraph.

This is positively exuberant. Let's look further.

of the confocal laser

endomicroscope CONVIVO can use this

platform to contact each other,

exchange image data and obtain

expert opinions.

They are constructing an internet platform for digital neuropathology. There will be an instant worldwide expert forum of users and experts available for all neurosurgical users of CONVIVO. But there is more.

Your Tasks Include:

• Onboarding new community members

• Configure the platform based on

feedback from members

• Organization of a virtual meeting

of the community

• Assistance in establishing

contacts between members of the

community

• Structuring the image database

• Support of the data interface of

So, is there any doubt that Zeiss is going full steam ahead inrolling out of CONVIVO for brain tumour neurosurgery. Stay with me for thislong post my friends. Tiresias is trying to be as brief as he can be.

And what Qualifications are required?

• A degree in medical technology

with a focus on medical image and

data processing or a degree in

medicine with a completed PJ in

pathology / neuropathology

• an independent and team-oriented

way of working

• Good written and spoken German and English

Tiresiashas previously mentioned that in vivo digital lasermicroscopy is the Amazon and the Kodak moment for histopathology and surgical pathology of cancer screening and treatment. Bavarian Zeiss centre will not just be the centre of the technology. It’s setting itself up to be an actual neuro pathology centre. But, of course not? This is merely support. But of course yes, thinks Tiresia! This is the beginning of a new paradigm in histopathology in the clinic and in the operating theatre. But Zeiss has only the right to Optiscan’s and confocal focal laser Endo microscopy for neurosurgery. Optiscan has to all other, each cancer being far bigger than brain tumour. Tiresias sees the same set up the next, for oral centred in Melbourne, and for breast cancer, for cervical, for G-I etc.. This is not just imaging hardware and software. This is histopathology. This is the biggest thing in cancer surgery and cancer screening going.
