Is it conceivable that management would reveal such market sensitive information to a "somebody" over the phone that the rest of the market is not privy to. Such information would present a good opportunity for insider trading or would otherwise be designed to depress the price.
I find all this positive and negative rumour mongering to be a tad unbelievable.
