When it comes to shipping, I don't reckon the company is telling porkies, so much as they are at the mercy of their spod processors who evidently appear to be pushing GXY around (buyers market).
They've likely pushed as many shipments into 2H to take advantage of lower spod pricing expected for 2H and potentially slowed overall annual shipments until the Chinese market stabilises.
Car sales in China are also in freefall and NEV sales are now starting to feel the pinch, having avoided it for the last few months, now that subsidies are going away.

NIO's battery woes have not helped one bit with some netizens no longer comfortable buying an EV - sure petrol/diesel engines catch fire but unfortunately the media latches on to EV's because it's seen to be newsworthy :

Sans further targeted stimulus, broader economic uncertainty in the largest EV market and some very specific battery fire panic will likely put a damper on EV demand as well.
