Everyone I have spoken to is shocked and saddened by this brutal incident.
However this is a forum to discuss the company and if media reports are correct that this incident occurred during a pre-start meeting then questions need to be asked as to whether PLS is providing a safe work environment.
It does not matter whether you hold or not, everyone's interest must align that a company has a duty of care to provide a safe working environment for their staff.
This apparently happened during a staff meeting. I understand that with the recent redundancies and operational issues that morale may be low but I don't know I've heard of a death during a staff meeting at an Australian mine ever.
Perhaps PLS needs to get on top of this issue and hire security to ensure the safety of its workers?
Again I feel terribly for those involved.
