Recent news of Channel seven acquring a joint venture with TiVo to provide a digital video recorder DVR and digital media into homes of Australians.
Together with Channels 10 & 9 joining in, this setup will allow people to 'time shift' record movies and programs for watching at a later time. The TiVo box will also allow for Internet connection. This service will be provided in Australian homes at a lower price to pay TV. (the likes of Foxtel & Austar).
There are options for both pay TV providers however. Foxtel has expressed an interest in providing Pay TV services across the Internet. Which would be in competition to this service.
