One of the typical misconceptions of MCs, a stock has a low MC when it is not wanted, the reason a stock will have a high MC is because it is a desired stock.
I remember years / decades ago when I was always seeking a low PE in stocks to make money and the price rarely moved, one day the penny dropped the reason the stocks were more sought with a higher PE is that the market was keen on the stock, same goes for the MC. However in saying that as much of todays market is being driven by retail investors whom have no clue as to what to look for other than a low MC I guess it sometimes is a self-fulfilling prophecy ha ha
