In all seriousness, that European commission wrote down in print that the sanctions on Russia were going to cause Russia such economic hardship that they would be forced to concede defeat in Ukraine, just ask @manny100 above. Well that didn't happen, and Gert Wilders just got elected to the Netherlands. The Europeans can't agree on anything, and I see it as very unlikely that the EU will even exist in current form by 2027. Germany (and Sweden) can't even extract themselves from Ukraine, Germany has just doubled financial assistance even as the US and UK running low on munitions reduce their ammo and financial funding and start seriously looking for a face saving way out.
