I very much doubt that the shorts are having any affect on the SP right now, given they are around 0.2% of the SOI. A miniscule fraction. For that matter, I don't think any "day traders" would have been interested yesterday either, hardly any gains for them since the SP opened at 45c and went to 48c at the highest. I think the SP action is purely simple buying and sell by retail, and the response has been somewhat subdued. Maybe it will do better next week if there's good news to follow up ?
