To get any "additional" ore, I believe Talga can mine , let's just say 2yrs worth of the 120kta - in the first 1yr.
So, instead of having a mine life of say 25yrs at 120kta, we would have a mine life of 12 5yrs effectively front loading the operations (i.e. doubled the annual ore mining) to meet the demand, whilst the expansion permits are being reviewed.
As I understand it, there is nothing preventing Talga from doing this. The key to it will be the nameplate of the Refinery and its ability to increase output.
This would remove the need to go underground for quite some years.
