Cheers for that. Yeah, I wouldn't want that big hole near anything i'd value either. I grew up near underground and open pit (Central Queensland) and we were good as long as the area was fixed up and the benefits flowed to the town (jobs, hospitals, sporting oval, supporting clubs, help with housing).
After all this time, I just want the mine and the anode refinery to get moving - maybe I'd be ok with appeals as long as they are reasonable and within the law. Better to out it all than have questions lingering.
