I had a look at the article and that appears to be an inference they have drawn from the diagram below. It is not from a company quote and to me suggests they don't know what they are talking about.
The diagram shows metal chemicals - active materials - electrode etc.
This flow chart relates specifically to taking refined lithium hydroxide and manufacturing it into cathode electrode. Graphite/anode is not a metal.
Again I have seen nowhere that says Northvolt will produce anode in house.
