There was some discussion on here about this a few weeks ago and it caused a bit of confusion then too.
The "coating" Northvolt are referring to is applying the active anode material to the copper foil current collector.
This is different to coating the anode material. Anode coating is the process of taking the spherical graphite powder 5-20 nanometers in size, then coating with another material 8-20 microns in size and about 5-20 nanometers in even thickness. This then produces the final product - Talnode C
Below is from a Northvolt process document. They take the active material (Talnode C) and then "coat" the copper foil with anode slurry.
Here it is illustrated in the Talga process flow. The Talnode-C (coated anode active material) is taken by Northvolt and turned into a slurry and "coated" on the copper foil.
